Memory
LatentWork can remember things about you and your projects so you don't have to repeat them, and always follow standing instructions you write yourself.
How memory works
As you work, the agent saves short notes about things worth keeping: how you like answers, facts about a project, decisions you've made. It uses them in later tasks. Each note records what it remembers and why.
Memory is personal. It's kept on this computer, and it's never shared with anyone you share a workspace with. Open it in Settings → Memory, under Global.
| Group | Applies |
|---|---|
| About you | In every project. |
| The workspace's name (This project) | Only in the workspace selected at the top of the Memory page. |
To see another workspace's memories, pick it with the workspace selector next to the Memory title.
Ask the agent to remember something
Tell it in a task, in your own words:
Remember that our fiscal year starts in April. When it has nothing saved yet, the Memory page suggests exactly this: tell the agent something you'd otherwise have to repeat, such as "always give me the diff first", and it keeps it.
Your instructions
Your instructions are standing rules in your own words, for example:
Always reply in British English.
Never open with a summary of what I asked.- The agent always follows them, and they win over anything it has worked out for itself.
- Only you can change them; the agent can never edit or delete them.
- They are not memories and don't appear in the memory lists.
Type them in the box and select Save instructions. When they're saved, the page shows Saved — the agent is following this. Discard changes undoes unsaved edits.
Review, edit and delete memories
- 1Open a group
Under What is remembered, select Open on About you or on the workspace. Each group shows how many memories it holds.
- 2Find a memory
Type in Search memories. Click a memory to expand it and see the full note, why it was saved, and when.
- 3Edit or delete it
Select the pencil to change What it remembers and Why it remembers this, then Save. Select the bin to delete it, and confirm with Delete. There's no undo.
Changes apply to new tasks. Long lists are split into pages with Previous and Next.
Stop the agent from remembering
Turn off Let the agent remember new things at the top of the Memory page. The agent stops saving new memories, and tells you plainly when it can't save rather than pretending it did. What it already remembers stays, and is still used.
